Kinila Commons is a community library in Bailore, Udupi β a place where anyone can come to read, explore ideas, and borrow books. We believe that access to knowledge should not depend on where you live or what you can afford.
The library holds over 1,500 books across fiction, non-fiction, history, science, cookery, and more β all catalogued and available. Reading on-site is always free. Members can borrow books and take them home.
Kinila Commons is one of three arms of Kinila Ventures, a partnership firm working to make science and knowledge accessible to people who need it most.

To take books home, register as a member. A small annual membership fee applies. Members may borrow books for up to 2 weeks.
Return borrowed books on time so others can enjoy them too. Members in good standing can borrow again immediately.

Kinila Commons grows through the generosity of the community. If you have books at home that you have read and would like others to enjoy, we welcome donations.
We accept books in good or fair condition across all genres β fiction, non-fiction, children's books, cookery, history, and more. Books in Kannada, Hindi, and other Indian languages are especially welcome.
To donate, bring your books to the library or contact us to arrange a drop-off.
